Host an Event

Join the network of community centers, music conservatories, and non-profit organizations that have hosted screenings of The Last Mambo. Director Rita Hargrave has presented The Last Mambo at numerous film festivals, radio broadcasts and community screenings. We are planning events in key states but with your help, we can amplify our voice and provide powerful perspectives about the intersectionality of creativity, diversity and education.

The screening and filmmaker-audience dialogues weave together insightful discussions about challenge of preserving and promoting the musical, political and social heritage of diverse populations.

As a community partner, your organization will have an integral role in expanding our outreach efforts and promoting Afro-Latin music as a vehicle to breaking down barriers across age, ethnicity, gender and culture.

The Last Mambo is available at its original length of 56 minutes or a specially edited 30 minute version, depending on your organization’s scheduling needs. As a partner in hosting a screening, you will receive a complete screening kit, including a production manual, press kit, a discussion guide and additional resources to ensure the success of your event.
